Piedmont Bottling and Vending, Inc., doing business as Piedmont Vending, is a leading vending and food service operator in North Carolina. Serving the Piedmont and Northwest sections of the state, we provide our customers with quality food and refreshments through vending machines and in-plant cafeterias.
Piedmont Vending traces its origin to 1940. At that time, Big Boy Bottlers of Hickory was formed to bottle and to distribute Big Boy Cola. In 1942, Big Boy Bottlers changed its name to Spur Bottling Company. In 1945, the Spur Bottling Company was sold to a group of investors, including Paul Speagle who became the general manager. The company name was changed again in 1948 to the Seven-Up Bottling Company of Hickory, as a soft drink by the same name became the main product bottled and distributed.
Over the years, other lines of soft drinks were added to the product mix such as Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper. Other lines included Tru-Ade fruit flavored soft drinks, Chocolate Soldier chocolate drink and the first cola to be introduced in 16oz.bottles, Lotta Cola.
In the early 1960's, the company began full-line vending and the corporate name was changed to Piedmont Bottling and Vending, Inc. In 1967, the company sold all of its bottling operations and began concentrating on full-line vending. Piedmont serves the counties of Catawba, Burke, Caldwell, Alexander, Lincoln and Gaston.
Piedmont Vending expanded into the Charlotte/Gastonia market with the purchase of Crown Vending Company from James Bass in February 1995 and Crisp Vending in August 1997. In March of 1998, Piedmont Vending entered into an agreement with Peter Couchell to purchase his sole proprietorship, Charlotte Vending Service. Charlotte Vending Service had served the Charlotte/Mecklenburg area for over 30 years.

Our staff is available any day of the week to plan any special event or function from picnics, management meetings, executive dinners and "BBQ".
